Beat Up

Dark

Summary

Beat-Up is a Dark-type move with variable power and 100% accuracy. The move's power is determined by the base Attack stats of all conscious Pokémon in the user's party, with each Pokémon contributing an individual hit. Each hit uses a base power of 10. Originally, in Generation II, Beat-Up calculated damage based on the user's Attack stat and base power of its allies, but it was later changed to consider the actual base Attack of each party Pokémon from Generation V onward. Unique among moves for potentially hitting the target multiple times in a single turn, Beat-Up is often used strategically to exploit matchups against Pokémon weak to Dark-type moves.

Effect

Inflicts typeless regular damage. Every Pokémon in the user's party, excepting those that have fainted or have a major status effect, attacks the target. Calculated stats are ignored; the base stats for the target and assorted attackers are used instead. The random factor in the damage formula is not used. dark Pokémon still get STAB. This effect breaks through wonder guard.
