Summary

Spiky Shield is a Grass-type status move with no power and perfect accuracy. It protects the user from all effects of moves that target it during the turn it is used, including damage. If a contact move is blocked by Spiky Shield, the attacker takes damage equal to 1/8 of their maximum HP. It was introduced in Generation VI and is the signature move of Chesnaught. Spiky Shield is often used by defensive Pokémon to stall opponents and inflict incremental damage while protecting themselves from attacks.
